The need to be loved and wanted is a powerful thing. No matter how many times our hearts get broken we still crave for love and although we may put up a wall and pretend we don’t care, it is only a matter of time before someone comes along and sometimes foolishly we lower that wall to allow them into our hearts. When I decided to start a blog, I first thought to myself what kind of blog could I start that would be interesting, that would draw in an audience and that I would feel comfortable to discuss and I kept coming back to relationships. The way relationships are today is completely different from how they were when our parents were younger. Now as we all know cheating is nothing new, it’s been going on since the beginning of time. However, with the advanced form of connecting through social media and other electronic messaging formats, it has tremendously evolved into something that is becoming more acceptable.  Speaking from my own experience and from conversations with friends and family, I have noticed that one of the biggest complaints is their partner being unfaithful, whether you call it cheating, adultery, infidelity or just plain stepping out, the end result is still the same, it hurts.

Almost 200 males and females admitted to cheating on their spouse or partner:  

• • 55% of male cheated on their spouse with five or more people
  • 50% of our female cheating with only one person
  • 32% of the men met the person they cheated with online (either through social media or a dating service)
  • 22% of the women met the person they cheated within some sort of social setting (bar, party) or had a previous romantic connection to that person
  • 23% of the men said the reason for their affair was due to a lack of sexual satisfaction
  • 28% of the women said their reason due to a lack of emotional satisfaction

Relationships of any kind are hard to maintain, failed relationships can happen for many reasons and the failure of a relationship is often a source of great anguish and devastation. In all corners of the world, at this very moment, someone is thinking about, in the process of or has actually cheated on someone they apparently love.
